At Svitalo we believe that life is too short not to enjoy it at its fullest. The Italian word “svitalo” means loosen up or unscrew. Life is amazing and shouldn’t be made too complicated. On this site and through us at Svitalo you can learn about some things that we believe improve life.
Svitalo is a Swedish-Italian business and approach to life. We try to mix the Latino south with the Viking north as best we can. This is done both by theoretical studies as well as very much life experiences.

Wine is a marvellous invention dating back thousands of years. Italy is part of the ancient culture of wine and has during this time refined it’s wine production, today being one of the most loved countries for its wine. Italy boasts famous regions and wines such as Toscana with its Brunello, Piemonte with its Barolo and Valpolicella with its legendary Amarone based on grapes dried for up to 100 days.
The southern region of Puglia is less famous for its wines. As we see it at Svitalo Puglia is a diamond that is just starting to get polished. The main high quality grape in Puglia is Primitivo. This grape has been exported to California and many other places and there it takes on a new and more well known name, Zinfandel. The Primitivo grape excels in the spectacular region of Puglia in the deep south east of Italy. The region of Puglia boasts a long coast line, dramatic mountainous scenery and long warm summers. The most famous Primitivo wine is the “Primitivo di Manduria”.
Puglia offers a variety of wines from different grapes. Red wine is dominated by Primitivo and Negroamaro. You can also find the internationally very uncommon grape Nero di Troia. A variety of white wines are produced to accompany the excellent seafood found in Puglia.
We believe that life is more interesting when you know and choose what you drink. A glass of good wine can be an occasion in itself. Puglia has a lot of really good wine and since the region is not yet exploited by the tourist hype you can still enjoy a genuine experience on site and enjoy a really good glass of wine at a reasonable price.

Olive trees are amazing! If you haven’t had the opportunity to walk around between old olive trees you should know that an amazing experience awaits you in Puglia. This southern region of Italy with a long coast on the Adriatic sea boasts some of the worlds oldest olive trees. Some trees are called “millenarie”. This is because they are more than 1000 years old. Many trees are between 200 and 400 years old. Amazing numbers that is also shown by amazing tree trunks that seem to be twisted by age. These natural riches make Puglia the perfect place for extremely high quality olive oil. Olive oil is the foundation for the south Italian cuisine. This is one of the well known secrets of why the Mediterranean cuisine is considered one of the most healthy cooking traditions. We love the feeling of preparing a delicious dish knowing that the oil we use in our food comes from the magnificently sculptured olive trees of Puglia. If you want to try this feeling please check out the oils we have on offer in our store. Our olive oil is obviously cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. You are also welcome to ask us for advice of where to go to experience the historic giants of the Italian south.
Sometimes what you know is not enough. Trusting what you feel is important in life. After performing a Yoga session you can feel that it was good for you but you do not know why. You basically have to trust your feelings. Saying this Yoga positions have been studied carefully over very long time to understand how the body, organs and muscles are affected by each movement and each position. We see Yoga as an enriching part of life and something to go back to to find relief, relax from stress and cure both body and soul.
The base for our Yoga activities is Gothenburg, Sweden. We arrange Yoga training sessions both privately, in groups and Yoga retreats to Puglia in southern Italy. Please contact us if you are interested in joining any of our Yoga activities.

The world is a journey and so is life. At Svitalo we believe in enriching life by travelling around the world. Meeting new cultures and seeing the world from different perspectives augments your own reality. The Svitalo team currently holds travel experience from about 35 countries and life experience from 8 countries. Our aim is to add a new country to our list of experience every year. Our deepest and most recent travel and life experience is from Puglia in southern Italy. This Italian region has been identified by National Geographic as one of the worlds best travel destinations. This since Puglia has a perfect blend of great sunny weather, wonderful people, amazing nature, cultural riches such as the UNESCO World Heritage site Alberobello and delicious food and wine. Puglia has also been identified by the Jet Set with the recent wedding of Justin Timberlake at the five star resort Borgo Egnazia, a holiday for Madonna and the annual Red Bull World Championship Cliff diving competition in Polignano.
